Itinerary

• Drive along the Mediterranean Sea via the coastal highway to the first stop at Caesarea, once the largest city in Judea. Here, on the ruins of an ancient anchorage, Herod built a splendid port that he dedicated to Augustus Caesar.

• See the Roman amphitheater with wonderful acoustics which is still used today for concerts, the remains of the Crusader City; the Hippodrome, a Byzantine street with giant headless statues, and the Roman Aqueduct which are part of the archaeological finds at the site.

• Continue driving north passing through Haifa for a stop to see the overview of the magnificent Baha'i Shrine and gardens. The terraced gardens cascade down the mountain towards the city and Israel's largest port below, bursting with colorful flowers and landscaped designs.

• The next stop is at Rosh Hanikra, the most northerly point along Israel's Mediterranean coast alongside the border with Lebanon. Descend by cable car into the network of limestone grottoes created by the constant bombardment of the sea against the rocks.

• On the return journey south stop at Acre (Akko), the largest Crusader city in Israel. See the walls and moat which were reconstructed and repaired by El Jazzar at the end of the 1700s and prevented even Napoleon conquering the city; the prison used under Turkish rule and the gallows which were later used under the British Mandate to hang Jews who broke the British law limiting Jewish immigration to Palestine following World War II.

• Visit the Knights Halls, the crusader's underground city, and the authentic white market with some oriental food and spices.

• At the end of the day, we return to the pick up hotel.
